Cary, N.C. (May 18, 2018)- The North Carolina Courage have signed goalkeeper Michele Dalton as a goalkeeper replacement, the club announced today.
Dalton will serve as a goalkeeper replacement for Sabrina D’Angelo, who is unavailable due to a left ankle sprain. The 29-year-old keeper from Illinois has professional experience with the Chicago Red Stars where she led the league in goals against average (0.917) and earned five shut outs in the 2015 NWSL Season.
Collegiately, Dalton played for the University of Wisconsin from 2007-2011. She was named Big Ten Goalkeeper of the Year in 2011, and recorded 5,528 minutes in 58 matches for the Badgers.
The North Carolina Courage kick off a four-game road trip this Saturday, May 19 at Sky Blue FC at 7 p.m. ET. The team then travels to Orlando, Portland and Houston before returning home on Saturday, June 16 to host Utah Royals FC for the second time this season.
