Introducing the Courage Soccer Lab, powered by Lenovo - a free, soccer-themed STEM experience designed to take over your school’s PE class. This hands-on learning program connects science, technology, engineering, and math to the game of soccer. Our trained team will lead interactive stations that challenge students in third, fourth, and fifth grade to think critically, move actively, and explore how STEM plays a role in the development of professional soccer players around the world.

What Happens During a Courage Soccer Lab?
NC Courage staff members lead 3 - 4 interactive stations that blend soccer skills with STEM concepts such as reaction time, speed, drag, and technology in sports. Students rotate through each station, led by a team of trained NC Courage staff and customized for your school’s space and schedule. We provide all the equipment and set up the stations. After our visit, every student in the school will receive a free ticket to an upcoming NC Courage match.

Using BlazePods & soccer balls
Students dribble while responding to visual cues. - Shooting & Speed - What affects ball speed? Can you beat your best shot?
Using radar guns & goal setup
Students measure the speed of their shots. - Sprinting & Drag - What is drag, and how does it affect movement?
Using parachutes & stopwatches
Students race with and without parachutes. - Technology - How does technology show up in sports today?
Using Sphero robots & Lenovo tablets
Students navigate robots through a soccer course.

Is there a cost associated with the program? No, the program is completely free!
Will a Courage player be in attendance? Unfortuantely, due to their busy schedules, we are unable to gaurentee player participation unless otherwise stated.
