CARY, N.C. (July 24, 2023) – The North Carolina Courage have acquired $100,000 in allocation money and a 2024 international slot from the Kansas City Current following a discovery challenge that sent Brazilian center back Lauren to the Current.

Lauren is currently playing for the Brazilian Women’s National Team in the FIFA World Cup. She plays for Madrid CFF of Spain’s Liga F. The trade allows Kansas City to negotiate terms with the 20-year-old São Paulo native. The Courage, fresh off a historic six-goal performance, resume UKG NWSL Challenge Cup action this Saturday, July 29, when they host the Orlando Pride at 7:00 p.m. ET at WakeMed Soccer Park.
