Cary, N.C. (April 27, 2018)- North Carolina Courage midfielder Debinha has returned to North Carolina this week after playing with her native Brazil in the 2018 Copa América Femenina tournament, and with her return, Sarah Teegarden, who signed as a national team replacement player during Debinha’s international absence, has been released.
Debinha scored three goals for Brazil while in Chile to help her country clinch their seventh Copa América championship. With the tournament win, Brazil qualified for the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup in France. Before leaving for international duty in April, Debinha made two appearances for 175 minutes for the Courage and scored the game-winning goal in the team’s home opener against Portland Thorns FC. The NC Courage return to action this weekend as the NWSL Lifetime Game of the Week when they face the Houston Dash on the road at 3:30 p.m. ET. The Courage then return home for a Sunday afternoon matchup against the Chicago Red Stars on May 6 at 3:00 p.m. ET.
