2019

POR 0-6 NC Led by a three-goal hattrick from Lynn Williams, and goals from Debinha, Crystal Dunn, and Kristen Hamilton, the Courage defeated the Thorns in both the club’s largest win of 2019 and club history. Aug. 11 POR 2-1 NC Crystal Dunn’s early 4th-minute goal off of Lynn Williams’ assist was not enough for the Courage to hold on for the win as they were defeated due to two second-half goals for the Thorns. Jun. 15 NC 1-1 POR McKenzie Meehan made her first appearance after arriving from Sky Blue FC in a draw in which Julia Spetsmark scored off of an assist from Merritt Mathias.

2018

Sep. 22 NC 3-0 POR With goals from Debinha, Jessica McDonald, and Denise O’Sullivan, the Courage defeated the Portland Thorns to win the 2018 NWSL Championship in a rematch of the 2017 Championship. Aug. 5 NC 2-1 POR Lynn Williams scored two goals for her second time against the Thorns in the 2018 season, leading the Courage to a win that Clinched the club’s second consecutive NWSL Shield. May 30 POR 1-4 NC Lynn Williams had her first multi-goal game of the season, scoring two goals that combined with goals from Debinha and Sam Mewis, in which three of these goals came between the 57th and 65th minutes, brought the Courage to a resounding victory over the Thorns, only allowing a goal from the Thorns in the 89th minute. Mar. 24 NC Courage v Portland Thorns, March 24, 2018 NC 1-0 POR Debinha scored the Courage’s first goal of the season in a rematch of the previous season’s Championship game leading to an opening game win for the Courage.

2017

Oct. 14 NC 0-1 POR The Courage, in the club’s first NWSL Championship game, fell short following an early second-half goal despite 16 shots, of which five were on goal. Jul. 15 POR 1-0 NC Katelyn Rowland had six saves in her seventh start for the club. Apr. 22 NC 1-0 POR Debinha scored her first goal for the Courage in the club’s first game in Cary, NC off of an assist by Jessica McDonald.
