Cary, N.C. (Oct. 26, 2017)- North Carolina Courage midfielder Makenzy Doniak will play in Australia with Adelaide United F.C. of the Westfield W-League on loan during the NWSL offseason, the club announced today.

Doniak played in 23 games for the Courage in 2017 for a total of 1292 minutes, and tallied three assists this season. The club announced on Monday, Oct. 23 that a contract had been offered to Doniak to bring her back to Sahlen’s Stadium at WakeMed Soccer Park for 2018.

Adelaide United F.C. is based in Adeliade, South Australia, Australia. Adelaide United F.C. Women play in the Westfield W-League which kicks off its 2017 season on Friday, Oct. 27 and wraps up the first weekend of February 2018. The team’s first match is on Friday, Nov. 3 against Western Sydney Wanderers Women.

Doniak is expected to return to North Carolina prior to the start of the 2018 NWSL season.
