The NC Courage Academy had yet another busy and successful weekend at home to round out October. The teams went 6-1-1 throughout games on Saturday and Sunday at WRAL Soccer Park in Raleigh against Weston FC and Boca United Football Club as they continue their developmental journey in the 2017-2018 season. “We are extremely happy with the players and their performances from the weekend,” said Academy director Sean Nahas. “This is a slow journey that each of the players is going through, not a sprint. Each game is an opportunity for the teams and players to focus on the ideas we put in front of them during training week. This past weekend the player’s performances speak for themselves and as a staff we leave the games knowing that while there is still so much room for our players to grow, we still couldn’t be more proud of how far they have come to date. Their efforts are fantastic and as a staff we enjoy having the opportunity to work with them day in and day out.” The NC Courage Academy also saw success at the national level with four players getting call-ups to their respective U.S. Youth National Team camps. Tori Hansen returned from the U-17 camp which was in Chula Vista, Calif from Oct. 21-28 while Katherine Goff, Elaine Rouse and Peyton Goldthwaite have been recently called to the U-16’s camp which takes place in Carson, Calif. from Nov. 4-11. Next, the NC Courage Academy travels to J.C. Handly Sports Complex to take on the West Florida Flames on Saturday, Nov. 11. They then head to Brandenton, Fl. to play IMG Academy on Sunday, Nov. 12.
