CARY, N.C. (Jan. 27, 2025) – The North Carolina Courage today announced the 35 players on their preseason roster as training camp begins ahead of the 2025 National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) season.
The Courage bring 29 players under contract and six non-roster invitees into camp as preparations begin for March’s regular season opener. Twenty-eight of the 29 players are active while defender Sydney Collins remains on the season-ending injury list after an ankle injury last year. Per the new collective bargaining agreement, Estelle Johnson has waived her right to a post-maternity leave invitation to training camp.
The Courage currently utilize five of six available international spots. One spot was traded to San Diego Wave FC as part of the blockbuster offseason acquisition of midfielder Jaedyn Shaw, who – along with Casey Murphy, Ashley Sanchez, and Ryan Williams – have joined the Courage following the USWNT January camp. Midfielder Riley Jackson also joined the team after the futures camp.
