Cary, NC (July 25, 2019)- The North Carolina Courage (6W-3L-4D) will face Utah Royals FC (5W-4L-3D) at Rio Tinto Stadium on ESPNEWS on Saturday, July 27 at 10 p.m. ET. The two teams last met in May, where Elizabeth Eddy scored an equalizing goal in the 78th minute. The game ended with a score of 1-1. Eddy has since been traded to Sky Blue FC for McKenzie Meehan.
The NC Courage most recently played in SeatGeek Stadium against the Chicago Red Stars in front of a crowd of 17,388 fans. Lynn Williams scored the first goal of the game before Chicago answered with two more to clinch the win.
Williams has scored a goal or had an assist in the past four games. She has six goals and four assists on the season. Debinha, who assisted Williams’ goal against Chicago, has also had a goal or assist in the past four games. The Brazilian has three goals and three assists in eight games so far this season.
Utah Royals FC’s most recent match was against the Portland Thorns on July 19. The match ended in a draw after Utah’s Rachel Corsie scored the equalizing goal in the 90th minute. Kelley O’Hara sent in a long ball that Corsie dove to send into the goal. Christen Press had Utah’s other goal in the match.
The North Carolina Courage return home on August 2 for their first match in Sahlen’s Stadium at WakeMed Soccer Park in 20 days. The month of August will be a busy one for the Courage as they will host the International Champions Cup on August 15 and 18. The team will face Manchester City on August 15 at 7:30 p.m.
