CARY, N.C. (April 4, 2019) – The North Carolina Courage has traded the rights to local product Morgan Reid to the Orlando Pride in exchange for Orlando’s natural fourth-round draft selection in the 2020 NWSL College Draft.

Selected 38th overall in the 2018 NWSL College Draft, Reid was signed on as a national team replacement during the 2018 NWSL season but did not see any playing time. She was part of the team that captured the inaugural Women’s International Champions Cup last July, appearing as a substitute in both matches of the tournament.

Reid was the first local player to sign with the club last March 8 and is a product of Duke University, Cardinal Gibbons High School and the NCFC Youth Chelsea Ladies ’94 team where she won three national youth titles.

The NC Courage wishes Reid all the best as she embarks on the next step in her playing career.
The Courage will open its season on Saturday, April 13 with a match against the Chicago Red Stars at Sahlen’s Stadium at WakeMed Soccer Park.
