The Starting Stem program powered by Lenovo is an educational curriculum aimed at providing hands-on STEM curriculum and programming to elementary and middle school teachers and students in North Carolina. The Starting STEM curriculum utilizes soccer examples to improve student interest and performance in STEM through hands-on learning. The Starting Stem Program Includes:
- Engaging activities that create a measurable improvement in student appreciation of STEM and performance in math/science standards.
- Workshops for schools, after-school programs, and an interdisciplinary cadre of teachers on STEM curriculum using hands-on soccer examples.
- Website Portal where teachers can access and use the content to interact with their students and engage with other teachers to discuss best practices.
- Stem Field Days where students can apply the lessons in an interactive setting and get an opportunity to meet and learn from North Carolina FC and North Carolina Courage players and STEM field professionals.
