Cary, NC (March 4, 2019) – The North Carolina Courage began preseason training today in preparation for their defense of the 2018 NWSL Championship and have announced their preseason roster.
The team is bringing back the core of the team that captured a historic treble last season, including fan favorites Jessica McDonald, McCall Zerboni and Heather O’Reilly as well as newcomers Stephanie Labbé and Ally Haran and 2019 draftees Leah Pruitt, Hailey Harbison, Lauren Milliet and Kaycie Tillman. While several players will report next week when they return from their respective national team duties, the roster includes several non-roster invitees, who will help shape the team that fans will see come April 13, when they host Chicago in the 2019 season opener. The Courage will play six preseason matches in preparation for the season, highlighted by the showdown against Orlando Pride on Saturday, March 23 at 1 p.m., part of a historic doubleheader where NCFC will face Mexican powerhouse Necaxa at 4 p.m. A full preseason schedule can be found here.
