RALEIGH, N.C. (Thursday, Dec. 7) — Members of the North Carolina Football Club front office teamed up with the City of Raleigh’s Parks, Recreation & Cultural Resources Department to pick up litter from the shore of the Neuse River at the Milburnie Dam Canoe Access, last week.
The area, also known as Raleigh Beach, is a popular swimming, fishing and party spot.
City workers said they often fill up an entire trailer with trash from the park during the summer, but that the area does not see as many visitors this time of year.
While the bulk of the litter was caps from glass bottles, a wide range of items were collected, bagged and sent off to be properly disposed of.
